over the last five years. According to the U.S. Census Bureau,
home ownership rates are defined as the percent of total households
that own their home. The rate is computed by dividing the
total number of households that are owned by the total number
of households. According to the latest data, 63.3 percent
of San Diego's total households are owned. This is the highest
rate reported over the five-year period.

In addition to the following resources, the San Diego region
is rich with companies ready to assist in all aspects of a
companys relocation or expansion, whether the company
is interested in finding an existing property or office, or
undertaking a complete build-to-suit project.
Building Industry Association of San Diego County (BIASD)
The BIASD is the largest independent chapter of the California
Building Industry Association (CBIA). BIASD works closely
with CBIA and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)
on issues including housing affordability, environmental reform,
streamlining burdensome permit processing, reducing homebuyer
fees and construction dispute resolution. The mission of the
Building Industry Association is to pro-actively promote a
positive business environment for the homebuilding and light
commercial/industrial industry throughout San Diego County.
National Association of Industrial and Office Properties
(NAIOP)
The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties
is a trade association representing more than 8,000 members
who are developers, owners, investors, and related professionals
in industrial and office real estate in 47 Chapters across
the U.S. and Canada.
The Urban Land Institute District Council San Diego/Tijuana
The San Diego/ Tijuana District Council is the Urban Land
Institute at the local community level. This local organization
provides the structure for ULI to pursue its mission in the
local community. As the principal local forum of real estate
professionals, the San Diego/Tijuana District Council reflects
the ULI at its best in membership opportunity, leadership
development, community service and enhancement of land use
policy and practice.
Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR)
The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) offers
extensive educational courses for both members and candidate
members. Designation as a member of the SIOR commercial network
signifies the attainment of the outstanding knowledge a professional
has achieved in the real estate industry.
Regional Economic Development Information (REDI) System
REDI is an interactive mapping and analysis tool that allows
for the display and analysis of the 1998 Inventory and Market
Classification of Employment Land, as well as other appropriate
parcel level data from the Assessor Master Property Record
file and SANDAGs Land Use Inventory. Maintained by the
San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), the REDI system
can be accessed from SANDAGs website.
